Professor Trent Twomey was elected as National President of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia in March 2021. Trent has been involved with the Guild for over 10 years and was part of the successful negotiating team for the Sixth and Seventh Community Pharmacy Agreements. He is Secretary of the World Pharmacy Council, immediate Past Chairman and Director of Advance Cairns, a Professor at James Cook University, a Council Member of the Queensland Futures Institute, and a trustee for the Committee for Economic Development of Australia. Trent and his wife are both pharmacists and own a small group of pharmacies in Northern Queensland.

Karen is an innovative, multi award winning pharmacy owner, pharmacist and entrepreneur combining her passions for pharmacy, sport, business and people.

Recently Karen’s TerryWhite Chemmart Arana Hills were crowned National TerryWhite Chemmart of the Year. This is the second time Karen has won this prestigious award with her former pharmacy, TerryWhite Chemmart Samford, winning the title in 2018, the same year she was awarded TerryWhite Chemmart Pharmacist of the Year. In 2021 Karen was recognised with Australia Day Honours being awarded the Dickson Small Business Person of the Year.

Karen, a former Queensland Firebird Netballer, founded Batch Tested - an online platform for athletes and sporting teams to have easy and safe access to certified and tested sport supplements.

Debbie Rigby is an Advanced Practice Pharmacist with postgraduate qualifications in clinical pharmacy, geriatrics and respiratory medicine. Her special interests include geriatrics, deprescribing, drug interactions, respiratory disease, communication and health behaviour change, and medicines information. 

Debbie’s career as a pharmacist has been across many roles, including community and hospital pharmacy, academia, education, policy and advocacy, government and committee representation and has been involved in every aspect of the evolution of medication reviews in Australia. She currently conducts Home Medicine Reviews and provides medicines education to pharmacists, nurse practitioners, GPs and other health professionals through her company Pharmeducation.

Debbie has recently been appointed as the Clinical Executive Lead for the National Asthma Council Australia. Debbie is a past Director of NPS MedicineWise, past National Vice-President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, PSA Qld board member for 18 years, and Director and Chair of the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy. She is currently a member of the Australian Deprescribing Network, Lung Foundation Australia COPD Clinical Advisory Committee and Primary Care Clinical Advisory Committee, Chair MIMS Advisory Board, and the ACSQHC Medication Safety Oversight Committee and Active Ingredient Prescribing Advisory Group. Debbie has adjunct appointments at UQ, QUT, Griffith University and University of Sydney.

For her passion and commitment to the pharmacy profession and quality use of medicines, Debbie has received numerous awards including PSA Pharmacist of the Year, the inaugural AACP Consultant Pharmacist of the Year, PSA Gold Medal award, SHPA Clinical Pharmacy Award and was the first female to be awarded the PSA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.

Professor Andrew McLachlan is the Head of School and Dean of Pharmacy in the Sydney Pharmacy School and a Member of the Order of Australia. He is the former Program Director of the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Medicines and Ageing and previously Professor of Pharmacy (Aged Care) (2006-2018) in the then Faculty of Pharmacy and at Concord Hospital’s Centre for Education and Research on Ageing. He is a pharmacist, academic and researcher experienced in clinical pharmacology and research on the quality use of medicines. His research focuses on understanding the variability in response to medicines and how this can be managed to optimise patient care, particularly in special patient populations such as older people, the very young and the critically ill. He is interested in translating clinical pharmacology research and high quality clinical trial evidence into real-world practice.

Shefali Parekh is a Cancer Services Pharmacist at Austin Health, Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from Griffith University and has a Graduate Certificate in Applied Pharmacy Practice from the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. Shefali has a wealth of experience in the pharmacy profession, having worked as a Pharmacist at Austin Health, a Casual Pharmacist at Alfred Health, and an intern at the Royal Hobart Hospital. She has also held leadership positions at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association, where she served as Deputy Chair and Director of Professional Development, respectively. Daniel has a Master of Marketing (with Distinction) and tutors at university across management and marketing units. 

Flynn Swift is the President of the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association (NAPSA). Flynn has a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He has been quite active as a student leader taking up leadership roles including Executive Director of NAPSA, Pharmacy Student at TerryWhite Chemmart, Regional Relations Subcommittee at IPSF Asia Pacific Regional Office (IPSF APRO), QUTSPA NAPSA Liaison at QUT. Flynn is passionate about advocating for pharmacy students and ensuring they have access to the best education and resources available.

Georgia B. is a student intern with the Safer Prescribing Team at the Victorian Department of Health. Georgia is a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) student at RMIT University and has previously studied Paramedicine and Emergency. In addition, she has held various positions as a student leader, such as Vice President of the RMIT Association of Pharmacy Students, Treasurer of the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association, and Student Pharmacist at various pharmacies.

Jess is a registered pharmacist with almost 15 years of extensive experience in community pharmacy. She has been a managing pharmacist, proprietor and group compliance manager. Jess’ areas of interest include Schedule 8, vaccination and proprietor legislation. She is passionate about supporting and educating pharmacists on risk minimisation and management strategies.

Hayley has over 20 years of experience as a registered pharmacist, and has worked as a manager in a community pharmacy, as a hospital pharmacist, pharmacist preceptor for student placements and national coordinator for a highly regarded intern training program. She has written continuing education, worked as a rural remote Section 100 supply and coordination pharmacist in remote indigenous communities and practised as a registered pharmacist overseas.

Jeyda Shiaxiates works at Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) in Pharmacy Operations for Priceline Pharmacy. She has been a community Pharmacist for seven years, and in a brand support role for five years.  She is a mum of two young children (5 years old and 11 months old) and works full time. Her current role involves developing and supporting the Priceline Pharmacists in their career and professional development ambitions. She is passionate about the value a Pharmacist can add to patient care and the importance of a multidispicilpnary team of health professionals where Pharmacist’s are centre of the ecosystem.

This year, Jeyda works to recognise and support Pharmacists working through the pandemic, with appreciation of  the changes in our profession in recent times and its impact into the future. Further to this, Jeyda has an interest in the emerging generation of Pharmacist Graduates, as they transition from University into the Priceline Pharmacy banner.

Brenton Hart is the Chief Pharmacist for TerryWhite Chemmart - Australia’s largest community pharmacy network. 

Brenton is a passionate community pharmacist, pharmacy proprietor and advocate, with extensive experience in clinical practice, pharmacy operations, business, leadership and the pharmacy industry. As Chief Pharmacist, Brenton works with TerryWhite Chemmart Network Partners and community pharmacists from across the country to bring to life the brand mission of building a better future for Australian pharmacy through better health outcomes for every patient who walks through the pharmacy doors. This promise is delivered in pharmacy through the health, education and CareClinic strategy with professional practice and clinical governance at the heart.  

Brenton is also the chief spokesperson for TerryWhite Chemmart and is increasingly sought after as a thought-leader in various aspects of community pharmacy practice and in particular, in vaccination and public health. Brenton is a confident influencer and communicator who enjoys overcoming the challenges facing patients, our health system and community pharmacy itself. Brenton’s areas of passion in practice include early-career pharmacist and pharmacy student development, industry advocacy and innovation, as well as overcoming stigma in health care and working towards improving the health of vulnerable communities and cohorts of patients.

Dimitri Pandoulis has been a registered Pharmacist since 1998 and part of the Blooms The Chemist network since 2003. Dimitri became an owner at Blooms The Chemist in 2005 at Bathurst, NSW and remained there until 2011. Since then, Dimitri has been an owner at Belmont, NSW and currently consults at a number of pharmacies across the country. Dimitri is passionate about helping young Pharmacists with their pharmacy-ownership dreams in an environment where they may not be able to do so on their own. When he finds spare time Dimitri enjoys playing and coaching soccer at his local soccer club.

Krishna Mistry is a Pharmacy Intern at Priceline in Australia. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Sydney and a High School Certificate from Hurlstone Agricultural High School. She also has experience as a Dispensary Technician and Pharmacy Student at Priceline, a Placement Student at Western Sydney Local Health District and a Pharmacy Student at Chemist Warehouse.

Nicholas Wilson graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) in November of 2022. He has been working in the Pharmacy Industry since 2019 as a dispensary technician and is currently completing his internship at Blooms The Chemist Belmont Central under the supervision of Dimitrios Pandoulis.

Nick’s is a passionate community pharmacist who focuses on the delivery of patient-centered care and is specifically interested in Diabetes Management due to his sister having Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. Living with someone who has Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus has helped him understand more about the condition and assists him when caring for patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Nick also has special interests in mental health awareness and strives to reduce the stigma around metal health in his community.

 Nick’s ambition is to one day enter ownership with a Blooms The Chemist pharmacy, as the message and motives of Blooms The Chemist are a perfect match for his own values. Nick says Blooms The Chemist is unlike any pharmacy network he have ever been involved with.

Tom Simpson is the Executive Director, Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Tasmania, and has held positions as Chair, Statewide Pharmacy Executive Committee, the Tasmanian Minister’s Health Council and the Pharmacy Board of Tasmania. Tom is a member of the SHPA Leadership and Management Specialty Practice Leadership Committee and holds a conjoint position as Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Tasmania School of Pharmacy. Tom was awarded 2018 Tasmanian Pharmacist of the Year and the 2019 SHPA Medal of Merit, recognising outstanding contribution to pharmacy practice locally and nationally.

Rhiannon Froude is a Clinical Pharmacist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia. She holds a Graduate Certificate of Pharmacy Practice from Monash University, a Bachelor of Pharmacy - BPharm from Monash University, and a Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) from Mater Christi College.Rhiannon has a wealth of experience in her field, having worked as a SHPA Foundation Residency at The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia, a Clinical Pharmacist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, an Intern Pharmacist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and as a Pharmacy Student at Quality Pharmacy. Professor Nissen is an experienced pharmacy and health leader,
manager, practitioner, researcher and educator. She has worked
in both hospital and community pharmacy in metropolitan and rural
areas. As the HERA Program Director for Health Workforce Optimisation at The University of Queensland (UQ), her priority is on improving the Quality Use of Medicines in the
wider community, across the health care continuum, with a focus
on professional service development for all health professionals
including pharmacists and the factors which influence prescribing of
medicines.

Dr Fei Sim is the National President and Chair of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) Board, the first female, and the first from a diverse cultural background to be elected to this position since its Federation in 1977. Fei served as the WA State President of the PSA between 2017-2021, before she was elected to serve on the national Board. She is the Chair of the inaugural PSA Contemporary Community Pharmacy Practice (CCPP) Communities of Specialty Interest, which is a forum to support collaboration, innovation and strategic progression of various practice areas in pharmacy. Fei is a Senior Lecturer and the Coordinator of International Engagement in the Curtin Medical School at Curtin University, Western Australia. Fei holds a Doctoral degree in Pharmacy, is a practising pharmacist, a community pharmacy owner, a pharmacist immuniser and an Accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor. She is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the PSA, and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Fei serves on a number of profession and academic-related committees, and is fully committed to the pharmacy profession and is passionate about the future of the profession through growth of professional services to attain the highest level of contemporary pharmacist practice. Through her teaching and research activities as an academic, Fei is committed to motivating and inspiring students to become excellent and competent future pharmacists, and encouraging them to have the courage and aspiration to be future leaders in the primary healthcare team.

Fei has led and is involved in a number of research projects and trials aiming to provide evidence to support the great contribution of pharmacists, including in the area of pharmacist-led immunisation, mental health, primary care and minor ailments management and diabetes. Her teaching awards, the 2018 PSA WA Early Career Pharmacist Award and the 2019 PSA National Early Career Pharmacist of the Year Award are testimony to her commitment to patient care, learning and teaching, leadership in pharmacy, innovation and initiative in pharmacy service delivery, as well as peer and professional engagement.

Peter Guthrey holds the position of Senior Pharmacist, Strategic Policy at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. Peter supports policy development, advocacy activities, regulatory submissions and practice advice. In the past few years, Peter has led practice guidance and support to the profession in response to COVID19, including PSA's COVID-19 microsite and PSA ECP Facebook group.

Peter has driven key PSA policy work, including Pharmacists in 2023, medicine safety agenda and Australian Pharmacist – and is currently focussed on two major works – the next Professional Practice Standards and the sequel to Pharmacists in 2023. He has over 14 years’ experience in pharmacy policy, regulation, advocacy, quality management and community pharmacy practice. Peter maintains practice as a community pharmacist, working in an after-hours role at Melbourne’s Ascot Vale Pharmacy, one of Melbourne’s 24 hour Supercare pharmacies.

David Paulmert is a rural community pharmacist on Thursday Island, just past the tip of Queensland. David was awarded 2018 Guild Intern of the Year while working in Port Douglas. He then moved to Thursday Island in the beginning of 2021. In 2023, Thursday Island Pharmacy won a Guild Pharmacy of the Year for excellence in Professional Innovation. David has a keen interest in IT, and has developed a bespoke application, MedRoutine, that is being used in the Torres Strait to better connect the health workforce spread across 15 island communities.

Hannah is the pharmacy owner and founder of Kimberley Pharmacy Services, a community focused pharmacy with branches in Broome, Derby and Fitzroy Crossing. Hannah spends much of her time travelling between the pharmacies and remote Aboriginal health services, providing pharmacy-based assistance to locals in towns and communities throughout the Kimberley region. Hannah's community-focused approach has attracted national recognition - in 2015, the Broome branch was named The Pharmacy Guild of Australia's Pharmacy of the Year, the industry's most prestigious honour. In 2019, Hannah was also named First Amongst Equals, the highest honour in the Business News 40under40 awards, for her extraordinary contribution to remote Indigenous health.

Michael is an experienced pharmacist with a passion for remote pharmacy. He believes pharmacists are the hub of remote health and can make a huge impact on the health of their patients. Michael is a strong healthcare services professional, with an understanding that business skills are as important as clinical skills if you wish to operate a successful pharmacy. Michael graduated from Monash University, completed his intern training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and currently owns 14 pharmacies in regional and remote Australia.

Scott Harris is a workplace relations specialist with 25 years of experience across multiple industry sectors. He is currently employed as the Director, Workplace Relations & Business with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. Scott has previously worked in both the public and private sectors as the workplace relations manager or specialist, and as a human resources manager for international companies. Scott's experience and knowledge directly assist businesses in improving their operations regarding corporate performance and employment management. Scott holds Master's degrees in Industrial Relations, Business Administration and Legal Studies from Charles Sturt University.

Vanessa Lontos is an inspiring pharmacy leader, speaker, mentor and coach. Vanessa empowers pharmacists to lead engaged teams and build team culture and wellbeing. Vanessa is passionate about delivering holistic health solutions and expanded pharmacy care and has worked with pharmacy teams across Australia. Vanessa specialises in coaching and developing pharmacy teams in the areas of patient counselling and engagement, solution selling, building a culture of learning, leadership, innovation and change management. Prior to launching her consulting business, Vanessa led the Learning and Development team at Sigma Healthcare. In 2010 Vanessa was a finalist for the City of Port Phillip Citizen of the Year award and won the 2019 ARCHI Award at Sigma Healthcare. Vanessa is also currently a Learning Partner at THINKA, a previous pharmacy owner of Clarendon Pharmacy, and lives with her daughter, Olivia, in Melbourne.

Andrew Crawley is the General Manager of Pharmacy at Symbion Pty Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Commerce from the Queensland University of Technology, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He has been working in the pharmacy industry for over 10 years, initially as a Business Development Manager in the Northern Region, and then as the General Manager of Pharmacy. He has a wealth of experience in business strategy, operational finance, and relationship building.

Kay is passionate about the health and well-being of health professionals.  After forging a career based in hospital pharmacy, Kay has over the years also been involved in roles providing services which support pharmacists and other health professionals.  These roles have included working for the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (Victorian Branch), the Victorian Drug Usage Advisory Committee (VDUAC), the Victorian Medicines Advisory Committee (VMAC) and the Victorian Therapeutics Advisory Group (VicTAG).  Currently Kay is employed as the Executive Officer of the Pharmacists’ Support Service (PSS).

The role with PSS lead to employment by the Australian Medical Association (AMA) in Victoria to establish and coordinate their Peer Support Service for doctors and medical students which is based on the PSS model.  At AMA Victoria Kay also coordinates the Peer Visitor Program matching elderly isolated doctors with volunteer visitors who are medical students or doctors.  In addition she shares the role of coordinating the mentoring program at AMA Victoria.

Kay has also previously worked as an accredited consultant pharmacist undertaking medication reviews.

In 2020 Kay was awarded the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Symbion Pharmacist of the Year.

Natalie is an award winning Business Broker specialising in

Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Melbourne with
